A feature documentary about The Good Lifers, a circle of young black artists in the early 90's who came together weekly at a South Central LA health food store and broke ground musically.. They made an underground recording in 1994 that broke ground and influenced such stars as Ice Cube, Mos Def and Black Eyed Peas. Largely unknown to the mainstream, these young people garnered fans as far away as Germany and Japan with an almost cult-like following. Some of these kids went on to have music careers, others did not. They all took different paths but remain connected by the music they made and the West Coast underground hip hop movement they developed.
